I didn’t realise it was possible to under a send action in Gmail until I read the Mashable article today on it. The full article can be read HERE. But a quick summary for easy reference is as follows:
- Go to Gmail labs (that’s the little green bottle near settings at the top of the screen)
- You’ll now see a list of options that are being trialled in Gmail.
- Find the Undo Send feature and just enable it
- By default you’re given a 10 second period to undo your send order
- But this can be changed by going to the Settings option from the main Gmail page
- Click on Settings and go to the Undo Send section, which can be found under the General tab
- You can increase it to 20 or 30 seconds… or even decrease to 5 seconds if you want
Just remember that in order to undo the send order, you can’t navigate away from the main Gmail.
The ‘undo’ option is just a text link that appears at the top of the page after sending, so look out for it if it’s something you’ve not used before.
